OKX Wallet Now Support on Full Approval History

Published on 16 Oct 20232 min read

Dear OKX users,

In the past, wallet approval management was limited to approval that occurred automatically after the wallet was created. Smart contract approval that have occurred in history can not be overwritten.

In order to allow users to view and manage approval records more comprehensively, and prevent risks in time. OKX wallet officially launched full historical approval analysis on October 13, 2023 (HKT). You can click the "Approval" tab on the OKX wallet homepage to view and manage your full wallet approval records.

The feature is currently available on Ethereum, OKTC, BNB Chain, Polygon, Avalanche C, Fantom, Optimism, Arbitrum One, Gnosis, zkSync Era, and more chains coming soon.

Please note:
Due to the openness of on-chain contract deployment, fraudulent phishing contracts occur from time to time. Hackers use approval operations to maliciously charge high gas fees. When initiating or canceling approval, please confirm whether the estimated gas cost on the page is abnormal. Please operate with caution to avoid unnecessary loss of funds.

What is wallet approval?
Wallet approval refers to authorizing the smart contract to access the assets in the user's wallet. For example, approve Uniswap 1000 USDT to conduct transactions. Approval can be for some or all assets. The approval mechanism helps enhance the security and operational flexibility of assets on the chain, but smart contracts can also transfer user assets without the user's signatures.

Why do my approval records increase after the update?
In the past, wallet approval management was limited to approval that occurred automatically after the wallet was created. Smart contract approval that have occurred in history can not be overwritten. Therefore, some approval records may be added after this update.
