What is RLUSD?

Ripple USD (RLUSD) is a regulated U.S. dollar backed stablecoin issued by Ripple on the XRP Ledger and Ethereum networks. Each RLUSD is redeemable 1:1 for U.S. dollars held in segregated accounts. Reserves consist of cash deposits, U.S. Treasuries, and cash equivalents, with monthly attestations.

Who issues RLUSD?

RLUSD is issued by Ripple under regulatory oversight, including approval from the New York Department of Financial Services (NYDFS) and the Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA). RLUSD is designed to comply with these regulatory frameworks.

RLUSD Rewards is a feature that lets you automatically earn rewards simply by holding RLUSD in your OKX trading, funding, or loan account. You can turn it on or off at any time, while still using your RLUSD as collateral in Flexible Loan.

How do I start earning RLUSD Rewards?

You can start earning RLUSD Rewards in one of the following two ways:
1. Trade your stablecoins into at least 1 RLUSD, then hold to earn rewards.
2. Hold at least 1 RLUSD by trading or depositing. With RLUSD in your account, earning is on by default. Your rewards keep accruing as long as earning stays on.

Are there limits on my holdings?

There’s no maximum on how much RLUSD you can hold. To earn, keep at least 1 RLUSD in your funding account with earning enabled (the default).

Where do my rewards come from?

Your rewards are fully subsidized by OKX, which does not use your RLUSD to generate the rewards. You can trade, transfer, or withdraw your RLUSD at any time. OKX reserves the right to change or discontinue this feature with prior notice.

When and how are my rewards paid out?

Your rewards are paid out every 7 days and credited directly to your funding account in RLUSD.

How are my rewards calculated?

Each day, we take the lowest hourly balance snapshot as your reward balance for that day. Your weekly rewards are the sum of each day’s calculation:

Weekly rewards = Sum of (Daily minimum hourly balance × APR / 365)

Calculation period: Monday to Sunday (UTC+8). Each daily snapshot runs from 8:00 to 7:00 the next day (UTC+8).

Your rewards are based on the cross equity of your trading, funding, and loan accounts. The displayed APR is set by OKX for reference only and may vary over time. Your actual rewards equal the amount credited to your account.

Can I pick what token to get paid?

Yes. You can choose to receive your RLUSD rewards in XRP or RLUSD. You can change your reward token at any time from the RLUSD asset detail page. The token you pick before payout will be the reward token you get paid with.

A spread might apply for RLUSD to XRP. We will use the XRP price at the moment of payout.
